Our research identifies nanoscopic natural products, including viral capsids, lipoproteins, and natural surface structures, as inspiration for synthetic materials that capture their structural and functional elements. The group develops degradable polymers derived from natural products, unique macromolecular architectures, complex polymer assemblies, and well-defined nanostructured materials.
Karen L. Wooley holds the W. T. Doherty-Welch Chair in Chemistry and is a University Distinguished Professor at Texas A&M University, with joint appointments in Chemical Engineering and Materials Science & Engineering.
